Upgrade to the main street of Bendigo using Live Bottom Trucks

In a little over a week our crews have completed resurfacing works on the main road through the centre of Bendigo. The project had to be completed entirely at nighttime due to the busy section of the road with the 4000t of asphalt mix delivered entirely in walking floor body trucks (no hoists) due to the overhead tram wires and overhanging trees.
Unique to the project was the use of recycled products in the pavements base layers with a specially designed asphalt mix containing recycled glass, tyres and old road pavement. In total, over 1,000,000 glass bottles, 1650 passenger tyres and 580 tonnes of recycled pavement was added to the asphalt mix.
